Meet Donna who empowers women.
Creative Folk, Entrepreneurs | December 18, 2018We are on the quest to interview business owners over the age of 60. This week we visit Alderly Queensland Australia and chat with Donna Ferguson who founded Unique Vibrations a business focussed on lifting the self confidence of women.
Can you tell me a little bit about your business and what you do?
My business is Unique Vibrations which was birthed during a series of unfortunate events. I previously owned another business which I was deliberating over the change up from a small business for women with meaning, cultural change and creating extraordinary women along the way with a big vision to create experiences that women, impacting on them so that they would feel unique, beautiful, confident and extraordinary. I am a Rapid Success Therapist for Vibrational Alignment, certified NLP Practitioner, a published author, a Pyschic Protection Healer, Block decoder, Alignment Coach all using vibrational energy and processes to allow instant shifts.
What motivates you to keep working after 60?
I am extremely passionate about working with women who have lost sight of their inner self and as women have been dictated to for years to take care of others first, its time to make the change and have women re-connect to their Inner Power and Awaken their passion and purpose. I have methods that can create changes they want though their life journey and disembark the trauma with ease and let the layers unfold.
What do you like most about having your own business?
That question is rather ominous. I think most people think that life will be easy, freedom will come with owning your own business both financially and time. This is not the case and what I love about my business is that with every level of success that continues, the more extraordinary I feel, the more I can provide and offer to my clients, the more I can give back.
What have been some of the struggles you have faced with running your own business?
The biggest challenge with most businesses, including myself would be, finding the time to do everything when you first start out. As most people are a one person operation it is determining the priorities, also I believe the success in finding the influential clients that will be ongoing clients, refer new clients to your business and support you no matter what level your business is at.
What are some of the most important lessons you have learnt in life?
Being extremely tuned into peoples intentions when they want to affiliate, collaborate, joint venture etc with you. Always have a written agreement with any collective arrangement no matter what that is. (I did learn the hard way)
What advice would you give to the younger generation?
The best advice I would give the younger generation would be: have a plan, don’t expect it to be successful overnight, be resilient, be consistent and persistent at all times. Never give up, take your work seriously, do your due diligence, research your market, know your client fluently and be patient.
If you could jump into a time machine what era would you visit and why?
Oooh great question!!! I would say I would go back to the 60s but at my current age and totally rock it.
Anything else you would like to add?
I think with anything you do, if you have the right intention, a fire in your belly, motivation to be determined to come through anything is possible. Listen to the universe and its messages it sends you as it isn’t always what it appears to be. And finally why live an ordinary life when you can be extraordinary.
