Traff’s and Brianna’s story- Right Place, Right Time.
Love, Love Stories | December 15, 2025By Brianna Lane

Trafford Cox grew up in what he likes to call the Blue Mountains, but, when you speak to his family (mainly his older sister), he was really from Druitt (which is known as Mt Druitt down in Sydney, NSW). Little did I know we lived five minutes away from each other. I lived in Tregear, and he lived in Ropes Crossing, both within the Druitt. I was surprised we hadn’t crossed paths before, but honestly, we never did. Later, I also found out he was a regular visitor to another area I was in, called Narellan. He loved dropping by here with his mates, especially for a place called Lickits, where, surprisingly enough, my brother actually worked, and I was usually with my friends. How have we not met before?
Even after that, at the Bavarian, two plumbers came in for inspection of some pipe work and little did I know that one of them was him. I met him before, but no time was ever perfect. Until he came in for his sister’s birthday, and that was the day I officially met him.
On the day of the official meeting, I was working at the Bavarian in Coomera and honestly wasn’t feeling my best. Hair tied up, looking like a bird nest, with little to no patience, as I am exhausted for the week. I look at the schedule and see I’ve got a whole party for a birthday that I have to serve. GREAT! Not what I wanted. I didn’t want any big bookings. Just a relaxing day. Awe man…
They show up, and the first person to arrive is this guy wearing the most terrible clothes possible. Bundy shorts, Bundy shirt, and a bucket hat. He looked hungover. Big week too, I assume. I see him. “Hi! Did you need a hand with anything?” – “Yeah, na, all good, sweetheart,” WHAT?! How rude. He just brushed me off like that. How dare he… does he even know that I am trying to become a lawyer! Rude. Anyways, I got them all set, relaxed, and ready to serve. Then, as I am making a series of drinks for them, actually, I realise the whole table is looking at me… what’s wrong? I head to the table multiple times, and nothing was said. For some reason, too, Trafford has gotten nicer, he is smiling at me, saying more “pleases” and “thank-you’s”… what is happening? It gets to the end of their lunch, I’m so done with them, ready to go home over it. I do one final check of the table and start cleaning everything. Then all of a sudden, this voice appears. This one is different, its not Traff… IT’S HIS NAN!

“Are any of you single?” WHAT?! Sorry? What is happening right now? Am I seriously getting asked out by a nan… what a day. “…only as my grandson is, and I think you guys would be great together.” Before I could say anything, I heard Traff yell “Awe nan!” and ran like Usain Bolt out of the Bavarian. “Aw, never mind, he’s gone, sorry darling, maybe next time…” I could not believe what is happening right now. My heart is pounding, and I am a little unsure what just happened. Besides that, I keep cleaning. It’s my job, so I kind of have to.
Moving on after that debacle, I get called by the kitchen to run a pretzel to a table outside. I take it and carry on with my jolly job. As I’m walking outside, in the doorway, a man stands between it. IT’S THE GRANDMA BOY!
“I am so sorry about that, my nan is a bit much sometimes… but I was seriously wondering, could I have your phone number?”.
WHAT THE HECK!? IS THIS A MOVIE?! WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS?! My face is red, and I am sweating like crazy. This poor table that ordered the pretzel is most probably just looking at this moment, being like, “Um, my pretzel?” and maybe a little concerned about the way I look. “Oh! Of course! Can I drop this pretzel off real quick first?”… and that’s the first actual sentence of all of this beautiful mess.
Before you knew it, we went on our first date to Outback Steakhouse, where I ordered over $100 worth of food (did I eat it all… well, that’s another story for another day). We then left for Time Zone, smashed him in Guitar Hero, and won a free drink, of course, only to end with a cute little hug. Nothing more than a kind-hearted gentleman hug. So sweet!
Our first-ever kiss was at the mountains, in the car, where we saw this beautiful view… this was the third of the hills we visited… we really couldn’t make up our minds. Mind you, after we had our first kiss, the car broke down, so this was also the first time I OFFICALLY and ACCIDENTALLY met his dad… Thanks for that, Darren! You’re the best.
Later, three years down the track on the 20/02/2024, we walked down a path in beautiful Japan, surrounded by this amazing forest, where, awkwardly, he asked me, “So you want to get married right?” Of course, I answered with a yes. “Okay, hold this!”…WHAT!
“WAIT! OMG NO NO NO NO” – instantly, he freezes and stops what he is doing. “No, what? Oh, no, no, no, keep going!” “No, it’s okay…” he starts to walk a little faster this time, shyer than his usual self. OMG DID I JUST RUIN MY PROPOSAL?
“No, please continue, I didn’t mean to say like ‘No I don’t want to marry you no’, it was more like a ‘no way! I can’t believe I’m getting proposed to now type no’”. He then turns around and goes, “Okay… well then… Bri, will you marry me?”.
^Here is a video of me and Traff after the proposal!
After many minutes (felt like an eternity) of saying ‘Are you sure?’ and crying as I’ve just injured myself, when really it was tears of joy, the ring was on, and the wedding was to be planned. Is it planned right now? No. Why? Because we are in no hurry. We love each other, and I’d love to schedule it as soon as possible, but to be honest, we have different plans that are way cooler than a piece of paper and family drama! So, the wedding shall be ‘TBA’, but right now, let us live our lives, continue to be kids, and explore the world together, taking on worthy debt in the process, gaining lessons and memories. That is how my favourite person and I met at the right place at the right time.
